Losing Flips Deep...

I got 12th in the $300nl on stars tonight for $2500 (1st was 53k I believe) and I got 7th in the Full Tilt $50 50/50 for $1800 (1st was 12k.) I went out the same way in both tournys. TT vs AK. 6 handed in the $300NL and 7 handed in the FTP $50 50/50. Oh well.

Third In The 1k For 46k...

Not trying to make this blog a brag blog or anything but news is news so here we go. I just got 3rd in the 1k on Full Tilt Poker.

Played pretty good overall. Coolered some people, won some flips, had some hands hold up. Don't think I had any major suckouts. I requested the hand history so I could post some hands but it hasn't come yet.

I ended up busting out at 8k/16k when BegsClutch limped in from the small blind like he had done a bunch of times and I had QKdd in the big blind. I hadn't raised his limp yet and made it 48k (I had about 400k something and he had like 1mil.) He jammed and I called. He had A7o and he held.

BegsClutch and GimmeDa1Time were the guys that I was three handed with and they played real well. I played a couple real sick pots vs Begs and kind of stayed away from Gimme for the most part. We didn't get in many pots together. Begs was real active and that's why we played some of the pots we did. Still haven't gotten the hand history back so I guess I will post some of those hands tomorrow. Not a bad night but still searching big victory. Goodnight.

Sundays, Oh Sundays...

Today was rough. I just was deep in the 2nd 100r again and 200r. I busted both in pretty unlucky spots. Okay if you think I'm complaining of being unlucky or anything then stop reading. In any tournament you gotta get lucky period. This is a proven fact in poker by either not getting unlucky/getting lucky. Of course I had been lucky to get this far in the tournament, It just is frustrating in big pots/late deep in huge tournaments which seems to happen a lot. Not complaining what so ever. Just sharing my experience today through the blog.

The first hand is my bustout hand in the 200 rebuy. Pretty standard pot all around short handed, just pretty unlucky. When I got called behind I thought I was dead to 2 outs and especially when RainKhan calls. I can only have a chance with AK vs AK lol.

So yeah they both had AK and I couldnt fade the 4 outs for a huge pot with like 2 tables left in the 200r. 40k to first...

Okay.. now onto the other tournament I was in complete control of. Sooooo disgusted with how this tournament ended. I really feel like I played great.

This pot was deep in the money in the 100r. I had 3bet this guy for his third raise in a row and actually had a hand. It was a huge pot I would of been the chip leader and had almost 100bbs. This pot was killer for momentum and chip position. I did end up coming back after this pot but still.

Now here comes the pot that ruined my tournament. This pot I win on the turn 90% of the time. No way this guy is calling a 2 barrel shove in this spot unless he hits his miracle 2 outter, which he did. I really like how I played this hand and have no bad feelings about it. Opinions welcomed.

So I got 16th in the 100r and 19th in the 200r. 45k and 40k respectively. So close to maybe piling up two big scores, even one of those would of been nice, but again in the end it didnt go my way. Getting there and getting close and running good and playing better. I will keep workin at it until it all falls into place. Night.

100r Chop...

Run Good, Play Better! I just got finished chopping the 100r a little bit ago with nofingclue11 (CrazyZachary)

I had the chip lead 1.05m to 750k and we did a chip count chop so I won 20.5k and he got 19.5k about. He's a very good player it would of been a fun heads up match but chopping it is fine with me. We were in between playing it and chopping it but we ended up working it out and going with the chip count chop.

The final table was really tough. There were some really good players who had chips and position on me. I had AK87 to my direct left. He hardly let me win any pots off him and used his position really well against me. I played one pretty sick pot with him when we were 5 handed. I saved the hand history.

I normally don't ever show but I decided to show here against him to try to get him off my back a little bit. This pot really gave me momentum towards the end of this tournament. He crushed me in the 3-4 pots we played prior to this. He is a really tough player and gave me some trouble, but luckily I ended up getting the best of him.

I played the final table pretty well. I got my money in good just about every time. 3 handed I sucked out pretty hard when I made it 40k on the button with JTo and supreamdream shoved his 100k stack. He had QK and it came K469Q and I hit runner runner to knock him out and get heads up. He was real short but after that flop he's a huge favorite.

Whenever I chop a tournament I ALWAYS END UP GETTING 2nd. My buddies always make fun of me saying that it reflects bad on my database lol. They love seeing me get 2nd after I chop. Maybe when I don't chop I will stop getting 2nd.

Hans is giving me a little crap for not playing HU lol. He said since I had the chip advantage I should play it out. I was going to play it out if the chip count deal didn't work out. The difference between 1st and 2nd was 6k so it wasn't too much but still... In my eyes if I could chip chop it would be better for me because it's basically like winning (minus like 2k in money) but you get the confidence and rush of winning. I feel like that outweighs the disappointment of getting second. The money isn't a big difference. I am not guaranteed to come in first and I'm playing HU vs a good player. I have a pretty good amount of heads up experience but I guess I need to play some of these tournaments out and not chop it. I just hate playing so long and getting so deep and then eventually NOT winning. It bothers me so much lol. I guess just playing it out and losing/winning would be better experience and better motivation overall. I would either be mad I got 2nd and learn from my mistakes, or be more excited I finished out the tournament and won it completely. Oh well, there's always next time.

No results yet about the ultrasound I had today. They scanned my liver, pancreas, and gallbladder. Hopefully I hear back from them soon and we can figure out what's going on with this elevated bilirubin test result.

Guess that's it. Remember guys "Run Good, Play Better." Goodnight.

"Run Good, Play Better" & $1k Tournament...

Yesterday I went to the Hard Rock to play a 1k Tournament. It was a two day tournament. I didn't know it was a two day tournament until about 6 levels in lol. It would of helped me if I had known that but it didn't matter really. We started with 21k in chips (1k more for $10 addon) and the blinds started at 25/50. It ended up getting around 120 runners and as usual, was an awesome tournament.

I walked up to my table and sat down in the one seat. I just hung back at first watching some of the people play and started picking up on how they were playing. One kid was trying to run over the table. He was raising every limper and just attacking everybody. The first hand I played was against this guy. There was a limper in mid position for 50, he made it 150, and I made it 650 from the small blind with K8o. He called and the flop came A9Tdd. I bet 800, he made it 2500 and I mucked.

I raised KJ utg to 250 at 50/100 and got 4 callers. The flop came J78dd and I bet 525. Two people called and we saw a turn of 8s. I bet 1200 and they both called again. The river came the 4h and I checked and the guy next to act bet 1650. Other guy folded, I called and he had T6dd which bricked and I won the pot.

I was 3betting quite a bit in this tournament because I was using my position and applying pressure to the aggressive players to my right. The kid I was talking about above raised a limper to 250 and I was on the button with QQ and made it 850. He called and the flop came 883r. He check called my 1200 bet. Turn was Jh we both checked and the river came another 8. He bet 2100 I snap called and he mucked. He asked to see my hand which was kinda funny. I was now up to about 31.5k

A different loose player to my right made it 350 pre, another guy called, and I made it 1150 with KK in mid position. The tightest guy at the table called in the small blind as well as the initial raiser. Flop comes A25dd and we all check. Turn is 9s we all check. River is 6h and the tight guy bets 2k. Now let me go a little deeper into this hand. The tight guy in the small blind I literally think his preflop range is AA,AK,KK,QQ. Since I have KK I guess we can exclude that hand so he basically has QQ AK AA. I don't think he's ever betting QQ on the river. I tanked it for a minute and mucked.

Aggressive guy makes it 350 on the hijack I call the button with K6cc and this tight lady calls in the small blind as well. The flop comes 234cc and she leads for 1500. I have a pretty sick draw but she had been very tight so I decided to just call. Turn is the 9c giving me the second nuts and she checks to me. I bet 2300 and she min raises me to 4600. I just flat. River is the Ad and she checks to me again. She has about 14k behind. I bet 10k and she calls and mucks. I'm assuming she had like AcJ or something. I thought she might of flopped a set but AcX seems like it fits her better maybe.

I win a couple small pots and I am up to 53k on first break.

Guy limps for 150 I make it 550 in 3rd position with 89cc and the sb and bb call. Limper calls as well. Flop comes 975r and the first limper leads for 2k. I call and the blinds fold. Turn comes 6d putting two diamonds and giving me a straight. He bets 4k with about 8k behind. I put him all in and he tank mucked what he told me later was 9xdd.

I get moved to a new table and use my stack in a couple pots 3betting and what not. I kinda tightened up at this point because I had a loose guy to my left who was drinking wine and I was getting a feel for the table.

Guy limps for 200, I make it 800 with QQ and the bb calls. Flop comes 836dd and I bet 1100 he calls. Turn is 6h pairing the board and I bet 2700. He check raises me 5k more with 14k behind. I thought about it for a little bit what to do here. He called so fast on the flop I really didn't think he had a set. I thought if anything he had 99 TT or maybe JJ and was raising me for value. I had fired two bullets at him in a pot earlier so that kind of stuck in my mind too. I didn't think he would flat call with KK or AA, he didn't seem like that kind of player. I decided the best play was to shove and I did. I moved all in and he snap called and asked if I had a set. Ah crap, did he really just call with AA or KK? I shake my head no and table QQ. He shows JJ and I hold and am now up to 82k.

I played two pots bad that cost me about 15k of my stack 7k in both hands. I was trying to apply too much pressure because I wasn't aware of it being a two day tournament. I would of definitely relaxed a little more in those kind of situations but that's my fault for not knowing the structure. I was now down to about 65k with the blinds being 200/400. I pick up AdAc on the button and make it 1100. The guy drinking wine is veryyyy active he calls in the small blind. Flop comes 952dd and I bet 1700. He makes it 5k. I know for sure this guy most likely has a 9 here and I don't want him to give it up so I just called. The turn is the Qc putting two clubs up and he bets 6k now. I was now fairly sure he had some 9x hand like 9T or something and he was just stabbing again because he wasn't sure how else to play it. Normally I am raising here but I really thought he was real weak and would fold so I wanted him to fire another bullet on the river. The river comes the Kc completing a flush and he checks to me. I felt like there was no value for me to bet since two scare cards came and I won't get a bet from his 9. I checked and he tables his hand and says "NINE." I show my aces and prepare to scoop the pot then he says "Flush!" I look at his hand again and he has 95cc and went runner runner flush. That was kind of a slowroll lol and I don't know if he realized he hit the flush. Oh well. That was a pretty big pot and hurt my momentum.

Here was another interesting spot. 4 players limp I check my option with A5o in the big blind and the flop comes AT5hh. It checks to this one guy who bets small with nothing every time, he bets 500. My buddy makes it 1200 and I make it 4k. He thinks and flat calls me. The turn is the 2d putting two diamonds and two hearts and now I know when my buddy flat calls me here I'm in horrible shape unless he has like QJhh QKhh. I decided to check to him because I know he is definitely checking behind with a draw and he fired like 8k into the pot. I was pretty sure he had to have 55, TT, AT here so I mucked. He said later he had AT so hopefully I made a good laydown there. Seems like a pretty easy fold when I know that player isn't really trying to get involved in big pots against me, but who knows.

Blinds are now 300/600 still no antes. Guy makes it 1600, I make it 4700 with QQ and another guy shoves in 10k. I call he has AKo vs my QQs and it comes 445ssAs river bricks. One coin flip lost.

I win a couple pots I'm at about 50k now. Guy raises to 1600 preflop I call with 9T suited. Flop comes 9T8 it's 4 way pot they check to me I bet 2400. The big blind min raises to 4800. This guy literally never put any chips in the pot with a raise. He either bet or called. But he had also lost a big pot on the river where he lost half his stack so I thought there could be a chance he was tilted. He had about 14k behind. I decided to just call and he moved all in in the dark on the turn. The turn came a 3. I tanked it for a couple minutes and he started talking to me. He gave me a long speech about this and that and I was pretty sure he had flopped a straight. Once he gave his little speech about how he'd show me and this and that I just insta mucked and he showed J7o. I was down to about 45k.

There's two limpers and the cutoff shoves 12.4k I have JJ in the sb and I call everyone else folds. He turns over AQ and it comes AKKxx and I lose my 2nd coinflip and am down to about ~30k.

I blind down to about 20k at 600/1200/200a and gibler321 just was moved to the table on my right. He raises to 3100 I shove 66 in mid position next to have for 17k more he folds. I chip up a couple other pots and am now up to about 35k in chips. Gibler raises the hijack to 3100 and I look down at AQdd in the cutoff. This is a tricky spot. Sometimes I 3bet call here but sometimes I just call here. With about 30bbs in this tournament I think I could go either way. I know I'm well ahead of giblers opening range so I guess the best play is to 3bet/call all in. So maybe I misplayed this hand. Anyways I call, the button calls, and the big blind (this Asian guy who was super tight for 2 levels then spazzed out shoved 88 on giblers squeeze with JJ) jams all in for 32k. Gibler folds, I snap reshove all in and the button folds. The Asian guy turns over 66 to my AQdd. Gibler tells me he mucked A6. I lost my last two flips so this one has to go my way lol. The flop comes 332dd and I brick the rest for a 70k pot to get me back in action. I guess I played the last hand bad for not 3betting but oh well.

That was my day I busted about an hour before Day 1 was over. Pretty frustrating. Overall I probably played my A- or B+ game. I made a couple mistakes but it's tough not to. Just have to keep improving and playing good.

Like I was saying before in the last blog I have a new motto. The motto is: "Run Good, Play Better."

I made this up last Sunday when I was playing online. Basically it's motivation to run good lol, and it also reminds me that no matter how good or bad you run you control how good or bad you play. As long as I continue trying to play better, the running good part will fall into place. Poker is a very tough game. In MTTs the variance is just ridiculous so you have to stay positive and focused to make sure you aren't making mistakes. You can control the mistakes you make but you can't control the cards. Enough preaching about all that.

It's about 4:30 am and I have another doctors appointment in about 4 hours. I have to get an ultrasound on my liver. Hmmm. I'm not sure what to expect but basically last year I had blood work done and had an elevated bilirubin level of 1.4. The normal is under 1.2. Last week when I got more blood work done my bilirubin level was now 2.0. Since it has elevated that much in a short amount of time they want to do an ultrasound on my liver to make sure nothing is wrong. I'm sure I'll be alright but hopefully tomorrow I will know what's up.

I guess that's all. No good today in Sunday tournaments. I cashed in the FTP $500 NLH and I got 1 outted again for the 2nd week in a row in the 100r. Luckily it wasn't at the final table this time lol. FTOPS is coming up so that should be exciting as well. Goodnight.

I'm So Sick. Literally...

The title says it all lol. I don't get sick too often. I am fairly healthy but I had some sinus infection hit me hard the last couple of days. It started when I woke up from a nap the first day I was back from Vegas on Thursday (I think.) It got worse, then it started getting better, and then last night it was pretty bad. Luckily I scheduled a doctors appointment yesterday for this morning. I went to work out last night even though I wasn't feeling so good I thought I could sweat it out. I got home, took a shower, and then passed out for about an hour. I woke up at 4am and couldn't fall back asleep. I have been awake since then.

The doctor said it's just sinusitis and I got some pretty hardcore antibiotics. I have to take them for 5 days so hopefully tomorrow I start feeling better and the medication knocks it out of my system sooner than later. I haven't left my bed since I've been home except for the gym last night. I wanted to play poker today but how I feel factored with hardly sleeping the last two days that would probably be a bad idea. Maybe tomorrow I will feel okay for some of the good Wednesday tournaments.

The main event is still going strong and all my friends have unfortunately busted. I hate sweating how everyone remaining is doing because I obviously am jealous and wish it was me. Once you lose you have to accept that it's over and do your best to prepare yourself for the next tournament. When I say that I'm jealous and I wish it was me I don't say it in a bitter way. I just look at the opportunity and the situation the remaining people are in and wish I was in their spot. They are very fortunate and that is what every poker player lives for. A chance at the biggest tournament in the world. I can't help but sweat it though lol. It would be pretty sick to see Ivey win it.

I guess I'm rambling a little bit now. I don't know if it's the medication or what lol. I just wanted to write a little update. I know I got some more readers due to all the WSOP blogs so I will try to keep everyone entertained and keep the blog updated frequently.

I have a new motto I'll let everyone in on in the next blog. Time to sleep soon.

Decent Sunday, 1 Outted at FT...

I had a decent Sunday. Bubbled the final table of the $200 Horse in 10th place and then stone bubbled the Stars $500 NL 144 paid I got 145 place. I shoved 50k from the cutoff at 1k/2k from a hijack raiser who made it 5k. It was my first hand at the table. I shoved QKo and he called with 88 and I lost the flip and bubbled that tournament.

I ended up getting deep and making the final table of the Stars 2nd 100r. I finished in 4th place for about 15k. Here's how I lost:

Supposedly the other guy folded the other 7 in the deck so I guess I could say I got 1 outted here (2% chance to lose for those who don't play poker -- the worst odds an opponent can have with one card to come if they are not drawing dead. lol) First place was 36k so I feel like I would of had a great shot to win it with 1.2m in chips 3 handed. One of the opponents was pretty weak and the other was getting too aggressive. Oh well. I played good that's all that matters.

It feels good to get back from Vegas and the first day I play get some decent results. I really feel like I turned a new leaf and hopefully this starts the momentum I need to start making some big, consistent scores.

I still have one of my buddies in the main event who has a nice stack with about 170 players remaining. Hopefully he can continue to go deep and make the November 9.

Not sure what else to say, still kinda in shock about the 1 outter lol. I handled it well though. I've been handling the swings and stress of poker better lately so I need to keep that up.

I guess that's all I'll write for now. Goodnight.

Busted From The Main Event...

I am out of the 2009 $10k Buyin World Series Of Poker Main Event. It sucks. I actually caught the first plane back with my buddies Steve and Adam and am writing this blog from Florida. Whenever I lose the Main Event I feel like there's no point for me to be out there anymore. It's the last hoo-rah of the WSOP and it's a horrible feeling losing. Hopefully one year I won't have to feel the pain of losing and can make a deep run in that monster of a tournament.

My Day 2 starting table was pretty good. I thought it would be tougher after looking up some of the players at the table but it wasn't that bad. I played one really sick hand which I am so disturbed about I will talk about in a little bit.

I went into day 2 with 32k in chips. I had two big stacks to my right and a big stack to my left. Some of the people at the table had information about them available on the Internet so I googled all their names and tried to know a little bit about my opponents before I played. The guy to my left was dressed in Full Tilt gear and seemed like an Internet player.

The first hand I played was actually five hands into the tournament. It folded to me on the button and I looked down at A9o. The blinds were 250/500/50a and I made it 1300 on the button. The small blind Internet kid made it 3400. I expected something like this to happen to me given stack sizes and I reraised to 7800 and he mucked. I think I might of had to call a shove if he ended up shoving. It would of been a pretty sick shove I don't think a lot of people are capable of shoving too light in that scenario. I showed him my hand and told him I wasn't in the mood to mess around and get bullied. He didn't three bet me too much more throughout the day, which worked out for me.

The second hand I played I raised to 1300 on the hijack with A3ss and the small blind called. The flop came 789s and we both checked. The turn was the 7s and he bet 1300. I called. The river came the Ts making a one card straight. He checked to me, I fired 3600 and he called. He mucked when he saw my flush and I was up to a nice start to 42k.

Middle position player makes it 1400 and I call in the small blind with 22. The flop comes A34r and I lead into the raiser for 1800. He calls and the turn is the 5s. Putting two spades up. I probably should have checked here but given our stack sizes I thought the turn was a great card for him to try to bluff me off if I bet it. I bet 4650 and he mucked. I just thought too deep on the turn here and it's most likely an easy check raise. Up to 45k.

Here's the sickest hand of the tournament I played yesterday and after rethinking this hand I am VERY VERY VERY upset with not going through with my read for various reasons. The guy two to my right raised to 1650 (He had been active and was from Daytona Beach with a Kennel Club shirt on and some other logos from Florida related businesses. He was in lots of pots and if I had more information that I later gathered about him this hand would of been a lot easier.) I am down to about 39k and he makes it 1650 on the hijack. I have AQo on the button and decide to just call. My hand has a ton of value and this guy most likely mucks to a 3bet. I'd rather try to chip up in this spot and play a pot vs. this guy in position. The flop comes 662r. He bets 2600. I made it 4500 more, to 7100. He thinks for about 20-30 seconds and makes it 11k more. I have 29k behind, meaning I can reshove for 18k on top of his 11k. I literally thought about this hand for 2-3 minutes. This bet is either a 6 or nothing. Let me explain why I think this. I don't think this certain player is on the level to induce a shove with a hand like JJ-AA or even 99 etc. He is definitely never trying to induce a shove with apparently no fold equity. He is basically just repping a 6. I also don't feel that he would play a 6 like this. He's leaving himself an out in case I actually have a hand where he can fold if I do happen to move all in. I knew this at the time, thought forever, and went against my instincts and mucked. Before I mucked I asked him if he had anything, because I was about 95% sure he didn't, and then I mucked. He turned over T7hh and took the pot. Some of the guys were asking if I had JJ or QQ since I thought so long but I think my hand is irrelevant there for the most part. AQ is just the same as JJ and QQ there and I'm really kicking myself for not taking my play to the next level on that particular hand.

I raised with J9ss the small blind called. Flop came T97s and I bet 1825 and sb calls. Turn is 5d we check check, river is Ac he checks to me. This guy was really tight and I didn't think I had good showdown value here so I decided to bluff the river and bet 4100. He instantly shoved, ouch, and I mucked. He showed AA and I was now down to 21k on the short stack again.

I blinded down to 14k and the last hand before dinner break I woke up with AKdd in 3rd position. I made it 1400 and the Internet kid made it 3900. I shoved and he called with QQ. Board runs out T94d5d ... Kc on the river and I double up to about 30k before going into 400/800/100a.

I try to play a couple pots and get blinded down to 24k. UTG makes it 2800 (big raise for second time in a row UTG) and the small blind reraised to 14k. I peeled AKo in the big blind and thought for a little bit and decided to muck. I think it's a pretty easy muck. The small blind only had 11k behind and both ranges are super strong here. I am only chopping with the small blind's range here and QQ is probably in there like 10% too. So at best I'm really up against AK for the most part. UTG decided to gamble and puts him all in with 99. The small blind had AK and 99 holds.

The guy who ended up busting me 4bet button shoved AJo against a small blind raise who had QQ and spiked an ace on the river. He played pretty solid and good all day but he seemed to get a little more aggressive when the guy to his left who was 3betting him got eliminated. It folded to him on the cutoff, he made it 2200 and I shoved in 15k more in the sb with AJo. He insta mucked and I was back up to 21k. He has now raised the last like 2/4 3/4 pots and he raises UTG to 2200. It folds to me in middle position and I look down at AQhh. I have about 19k total. I hate shoving AQ into UTG raises. I just hate it. This guy played pretty good for the most part and I thought about just calling. Folding might be the best play here but I went against what I normally do and I decided to jam. I don't know if I jammed because I was frustrated being card dead, or because the blinds were going to 500/1k/100a in 10 minutes or what. But I shoved, he called with QQ and I lost. I don't completely hate my play but it's tough. Oh well.

After I busted the Main I got on the first flight out of Vegas which left at 11:30pm (I busted around 8pm) and I made it to Florida at 7:30am. I'm not sure what's on the agenda for me next. Probably back to online poker and some poker around Florida. I probably about broke even for the trip to Vegas which isn't bad. Breaking even during the WSOP is always a good thing and I can't complain. I feel like I'm really playing good poker but I still have a lot to learn and adapt to. Hopefully I can continue working on my game and I know good things are to come in the future.

Good luck to all my friends still out in Vegas and in the Main Event.

Dinner Break Day 2...

I'm on dinner break right now and I just doubled up to 30k. I had 14k at 300/600/75ante and raised to 1400 in 2nd position with AKdd. The guy to my left made it like 3900 or something (I didn't even bother to look cause I knew I was all in lol) and it folded back to me and I shoved. He called and had QQ. The flop came T9d45d and I rivered the King of clubs to double up to almost 30k. That was the hand right before the dinner break.

I started with 32k today and I was up to 45k early and got bluffed out of a big pot where I almost shoved it in and followed my read but I didnt. I will talk more about everything later but I was just giving a quick update. The blinds are going to be 400/800/100ante and the average stack is probably 75k or so. I have a lot of catching up to do but I will be alright =)

Update after I finish playing Day 2.

Advancing To Day Two (Edited)...

I survived day one of the $10k Buyin Main Event at the WSOP. I was up to 43k early and then down to 16k. I had the best table ever to start at. People were going nuts the whole time playing huge pots and putting so much money in every pot. I made some hands early to get up to 43k then I couldn't hit anything. Some people at my table were calling stations, some were just too passive, and some were just funny. One guy three to my left all day who ended up with 140k played about 70% of pots and just made the nuts with any two cards. He never folded a 3bet and was in every pot. He gave me the most trouble because he was so horrible.

The first decent pot I played was against the above guy, lets name him No Fold Joe. I raised the cutoff to 250 at 50/100 with QJo he defended his big blind. The flop came 894r I fired 250 he calls. Turn is T he checks I bet 725 he calls. River J and he bets 1500 and I call he has T5o LOL and I am up to 33k early.

I don't feel like writing all the hands right now but that's how my table was. This guy was in every hand and some other people were just crazy. I somehow went up and down and ended up with 32.4k when the average is probably 40k or so. I'll write more tomorrow I'm too tired, Goodnight.

Edit:*******************************************************************

Here's some more hands and information from yesterday. This is definitely one of the craziest hands I played and some might even say I played it bad. I'm not sure either and definitely want some input on this hand.

UTG was pretty active and he makes it 300 in the first level of play. I call in 3rd position with AcAd. Everyone else mucks. The flop comes J9s3s and he bets 800 into about a 750 pot. This was the norm at the table also. I made it 2250. He didn't think very long and he made it 7k. This line is pretty sick and I went into the tank for a couple minutes. I moved all in and he mucked. I was now up to 40.2k. I can explain my process in this hand later but I'd like to hear some comments from people before I do that.

Another guy who was in every pot early makes it 5x preflop to 500 and I call on the cutoff with 88. It comes 847dd and he chk calls 800. The turn is the Kh and he leads into me for 2k. He had taken these lines a lot and I made it 5700. He mucks and I'm at 43k.

I blind down to 36/37k and play this stupid pot. The cutoff makes it 700 at 100/200 and I looked down at Ac2s in the small blind. I decided to 3bet here because this guy was really active in late position and I wanted to start 3betting a little bit light before the antes kicked in. I made it 2200 and he called quickly. The flop came T5cc4 and I flopped a gutterball and the nut flush blocker. I bet 3300 and he called. The turn was the Qs and I decided to check here. He checked back and I was pretty sure he was weak at this point. His whole demeanor and everything I thought he might of floated the flop with like 66 or something. The river was the Jc and I tanked for a little and decided to fire 7700 to pick up the money out there. He snap called me and tabled AK. Pretty nasty float he did on the flop but oh well. I made a stupid unnecessary play and now I am down to 23k. Crap.

I tried not to panic and regained my composure during break. My table was so amazing I was so frustrated watching these guys play huge pots and just being clueless in some spots. I decided to tighten up a lot since I had this No Fold Joe three to my left playing every hand and never folding ever ever ever.

I raise to 800 UTG with AKo at 150/300. The cutoff/button and big blind call. The flop comes AKTr and the big blind leads for the pot 2600. This guy got into the main on a $5 satellite from 888 poker and he was absolutely wild. He was 5xing it preflop and calling with AT on T9JQ boards and stuff. I definitely thought this guy would bet AT/KT/AQ here like this and I decided to just call. The other two folded and the turn came a 5. He fired out 10k and I had 16k behind. I tanked for a couple minutes and decided to give up the pot. I talked to him a little and got a read and he seemed like he had it. I showed my AKo and he ended up showing me QJo. So I made a good fold but it still hurts. Being down to 16k I felt in bad shape but didn't worry.

I raise JJ black to 800 and get 3 callers. The flop comes K72ss and we all check. Turn is 9c and the sb bets 1600. I called, river 9h and we both check and I beat his A8ss. Back to 20k.

The very last hand before break No Fold Joe limps 2nd position and it folds to me in the small blind with QQ. This guy has never folded in his life to any preflop action and I raise it to 1200. He calls. The flop comes 234r and I bet 1600. He calls. The turn is the 5 and I check and he checks. The river is the 7 and I check and he checks. He tables J7dd like he has the nuts and I show my QQ. What is this guy doing? Look at his flop call. This is how he was playing all day and it was extremely annoying. I can't believe this guy got up to 140k. He played another hand with me earlier where I raised 9Tdd and he called on the button. It came AQ6 and I cbet and he thought for like 45 seconds and then mucked 35 of hearts and said there isn't much I could hit to catch up! But the fact that he is thinking of calling flops like this with backdoor draws and pair draws is just crazy.

Tight guy makes it 1k at 150/300 cutoff calls, button calls, I call in the bb with J9ss. The flop comes K44ss and it checks to the button who bets 2k. I call. Everyone else folds. The turn is the Qh and we both check. River comes 5c and I bet 6400 and she mucks and I am now back up to 31k. She seemed uninterested on river I didn't think she had QK or anything. I thought maybe a hand like JJ-66 she was really passive.

Those are about all the hands I wrote down. I didn't play many hands in the later levels of the tournament yesterday. I did play another hand against NO FOLD JOE when I raised TT utg to 1050 and he 3bet me in middle position to 3600. I peeled against him and definitely thought I could have the best hand preflop. He 3bet earlier in the day real small with KK and I felt like his 3x was lighter and he just thought I was super tight because he commented on this lady who busted out at our table for "playing way too tight." This guy was limping 24o on the button and tank mucking to a 6x preflop raise and showing his hand saying they made it too much for him to call. This guy was an animal I swear. Anyways, he 3bets me and I almost 4bet reraised but just called. The flop came K64r and I checked and he bet 6500. He loved this flop I could tell and I mucked. I thought about it for a minute though and he said "GOOD FOLD. I had a set." So at first I assumed he had KK then he said he had 66. LOL Wowowowowow. This guy must of just outplayed me all day. I really didnt get anything going or hit any hands the whole second half of the day. I raised NO FOLD JOE's big blind from the cutoff with AQo and he called me with Q3ss and we checked it down and it ran out KT39T and he won that pot but this is how this guy was playing. Pretty frustrating I couldn't get any chips from this guy. He was firing flushes on paired boards and firing two pair on straight/flush boards like he had the nuts.

Gotta love the main event. Hopefully my Day 2 table can be just as good and I can get something going. I really couldn't of asked for a better table today. Everyone started out so crazy and playing huge pots. When we busted a couple (I think we lost 3/4 players from the original table) people started tightening up. The 5x $5 satty winner tightened up A LOT and so did some other players when Day 2 was approaching.

I'll try to get some opinions about this one hand I played and hopefully I can continue with the Main Event and not make anymore mistakes.

5k Chip On the Ground/Bellagio $1590...

Yesterday I played the Bellagio $1590 tournament. Early on I played a pot vs. the most active and loose guy at the table. He raised the hijack and I called on the button with 9To. It was 50/100 and he made it 300. The flop came T85h and he bet 600. I called. Turn was 8h and he checked and I checked, river was a 9 and he bet 1k and I called. He mucked and I mucked my hand.

Now here is where the most interesting part of my day happens. The seat to my right wasn't filled yet and a player came and put his bag/man purse/etc down on the chair. The strap was around the chair and the bag sort of fell on the floor. He walked away to talk to some floor person on stage in the Fontana Room and a minute later I noticed what I thought was a quarter on the floor near his seat. I looked down again and saw some foreign coins. I then saw a Bellagio Flag (5k chip) directly under his seat with the assorted coins. So here I am looking at a 5k chip under his chair, most likely out of the view of the Bellagio cameras. I thought for a second and called a floor person over and told them what happened. The guy had just walked away moments before and the floor person knew which player it was because she had just seated him. I didn't want to touch the money and be accused of taking something so I decided to just call the floor and let them handle it. She picked up the money and went and grabbed the guy. He came back to the table and made sure the rest of his money was in his bag and then sat down to play in the tournament. He asked if it was me who saw the chip and I said yes and he gave me a $100 Bellagio chip. It was a very nice gesture of him considering I was just doing the right thing.

The very next hand I looked down at AA (KARMA???) and made it 250. An old guy in late position made it 750 and it folded back to me. I like to use my perceived image in this spot and made a 4bet to 2250. He called and the flop came 677. I checked and he bet 3k with about 4-5k behind. I moved all in and he folded without too much thought. I was immediately up to about 17k from my original 10k starting stack.

Shortly after I got moved to a new table. The second hand at the new table I make it 250 with 88 on the button and an old guy from Italy made it 2k from the small blind. I know I'm most likely up against AK and racing here but I mucked.

I was playing pretty tight at the new table and at 100/200/25a a real active guy in 2nd position makes it 500. He gets 4 callers and I look down at A8o in the small blind. I decide this is a perfect spot to squeeze and make it 2800. The only guy I'm really worried about is the 2nd flat caller who was this guy who wanted to try to outplay me in a couple pots by showing me a bluff earlier when I had nothing anyways. He ends up moving all in for 5k total and I am priced in to call. He has QQ and he holds and I'm down to 12k now.

I was really card dead the whole time at this table, missing flops and people just calling my cbets and I hardly won any pots. I ended up blinding down to about 8k at 200/400/25a when the hijack (a very loose and spewy player) made it 1100. I shoved 7k more from the small blind with 55 and he called with ATo. He won the flip and I was out. So I guess the karma from returning the 5k chip didn't work out after all but maybe it will carry over to the Main Event. Why would I want to win a couple hundred grand when I can save all my deep run/huge tournament score for the biggest tournament in the world!?!?!

Aside from that today I am going to head over to the Rio to play some sngs and then I will get ready to play the Main Event on Sunday probably. I'm not sure what day is best to play but that's when I probably will play. Talk to you guys later.

Missing Tournaments..

I went to the Bellagio today to play their daily 1k tournament at 2pm. When I got there a tournament was already running and deep into it. Apparently they started their poker tournament series today which started at noon. I really was looking forward to playing a nice tournament today so that was pretty frustrating. I've gone over to the Bellagio before to play a week ago and they only had 50 people in their daily so I skipped that time too.

This week is like limbo week because the WSOP is gearing up for the Main Event and just running a bunch of satellites. It seems like the Bellagio tournaments will have good turnouts. There were like 325 people registered for the tournament when I got to the Bellagio today. I am assuming people will be playing there and there still is the Venetian as well.

I'm not sure which day I will play the Main Event yet. Guess I will just wait and see. Other than that I am just playing online for the night. I busted the 100r on stars and the 300NL so far. I am still in the 6max 100r on FTP and deep in the 163 on FTP. Getting close to the money in the 163 so maybe I can get hot in that. I'll keep the blog updated with what's going on in the next couple days.
